Franz Kafka played Metamorphosis!

1 April, 2020

Franz Kafka, a distinguished figure in the history of Bohemia, now in Czech Republic, played the latest project by Ovid Works: Metamorphosis! The author agreed to autograph several game copies.

‘The description piqued my interest immediately,’ says Mr Kafka. ‘“Wake up as Gregor, who has been turned into a tiny bug.” Can you imagine! A human turned into a bug, a collision of the ordinary and the fantastical. All daily use items now seen from a bug’s perspective.’

Metamorphosis is a first person puzzle platforming adventure set in a surrealist world where your newfound abilities are your last and only hope for redemption. Players take the role of Gregor, who wakes up as a tiny bug and sets out on an extraordinary journey to unravel the mystery of his transformation.

When asked about what he liked most, Mr Kafka could not pick just one element.

‘I find the music extraordinary and the art style, the colors and projects, are simply surreal.’

The air of mystery and environmental riddles have left Mr Kafka “speechless with delight”. He mentioned that he’d like to write stories with a similar premise.

‘You must not pay too much attention to opinions,’ adds Kafka. ‘The written word is unalterable, therefore you should all try the game yourselves.’

We certainly hope that you will heed Mr Kafka’s advice!
